Festive Birthday Cards Are Not The Only Reason Why December Birthdays Are The Best
Christmas can often be a hard pill to swallow when your birthday happens to fall at this time of year; people tend to forget about your birthday, you always get presents wrapped in Christmas paper, and it’s very likely that you’ll end up getting a Christmas card instead of a birthday card, but it’s not all doom and gloom when you’ve got a December birthday, and here are 6 reasons why:
- You get the best presents
Whether you get a joint birthday/Christmas present or not (sometimes you just have to deal with these things, don’t you?), the selection of presents available in December is hundreds of times better than it is for the rest of the year. Not only that, but there are always Christmas sales, Black Friday and Cyber Monday close by, so your friends and family can get a really good deal and end up buying you even more than they normally would. It’s definitely a win/win for you. Also, as a bonus, your family might feel guilty for the rubbish selection of birthday cards that are usually available and get you a really, really good one like one of our “Happy anniversary of the day you popped out your mum's front bottom #happyfuckingbirthday”, “Happy birthday bucket flaps” or our “Happy birthgay” birthday card selection.
- You share a birth-month with Jesus
If you could choose to share a birth-month with anyone at all, it would probably be Jesus, right? The long hair, the flowing robes, the laidback attitude, and a father who basically created the world, what more could you ask for? In fact, if you did decide to fork out for a rude Christmas card this year, it would more than likely be our “Happy birthday Jesus, you fucking rock! #merrychristmas” rude Christmas card, that’s just how cool he is.
- The food is amazing
Forget top hats and sausage rolls, December is a time of exquisite party food such as vol-au-vents, mince pies and pate to name a few delicious treats. No matter what shop you go into, they will have mountains of these delights for you to choose from, meaning your birthday party will be the envy of people everywhere.
- It’s the best month for parties
Party dresses, the latest make-up, glitter on everything; December is the best time of year for parties, nights out and generally having a good time. Bars and restaurants put on their best spreads, best shows and best entertainment, so you’re all set for your December birthday party, with only minimal work. The only downside is there may be a schedule clash or two, so make sure you remind all of your friends a few weeks before so they can get your birthday card and your present sorted in time.
- Not one, but three birthstones
Birth stones: what are they for? What do they mean? What do you even do with them? Regardless of the answers to those questions, most people get lumped with only one birthstone and have to deal with it. However, luckily for you, you get the choice of three birthstones: zircon, tanzanite and turquoise. Greedy bastards!
- It’s so romantic
Forget February, December is the most romantic month around. Sleigh rides, snowflakes, hot chocolate and drunk sex in the pub toilets after messy nights out mean the twelfth month is the most loving month there is. Plus, if you’re born in December, then it’s highly likely that you were conceived on Valentines Day, so you can enjoy the knowledge that your mum was probably blowing your dad all those years ago as you blow out your birthday candles this year.
So there you have it, a December birthday isn’t all that bad! So get your dancing shoes on get your mates together and enjoy all of the presents.
